July Projects plus Video by Bec

Hi, everyone. Today I'm sharing my July projects.
I made a canvas with video tutorial and a layout.

Remember Moments

First up I made this 8x10 burlap canvas using the Tranquility collection, chipboard and lots of embossing powders.

Here is my video:

And my close ups:

For this layout I used the Courtship Lane Collection. I LOVE the soft pastel colours in this collection.
The papers are perfect to pair with flowers, lace and ribbons.
I chose the Courtship Lane Royal Street paper as my background. I added delicate details to this paper using distress ink and a stencil, along with a stencil and texture paste.

I used embossing powder to colour my chipboard pieces. For the word Adorable I used Mystic Plum and Petal. For the Swirly Circle I used Mystic Plum, Cotton Candy, Petal, and Lilac embossing powders.

I finished my layout with a generous amount of flowers and lace. I also used the embossing powder in Snow to stamp butterfly images onto Vellum paper.

Bente's shabby June projects

Hi, it's almost the end of June but that is not something you would know from
the weather over here. In Sweden we love to celebrate Midsummer outside with our traditional
food and many like to  dance and sing around the 'May-pole'.
Well, I guess not much of that going on this year as yesterday was an utterly
blusery and rainy day unfortunately. So I stayed inside scrapping...
What better substitute, -for almost anything...?

Here's my first page:

I based my layout on the beautiful Montage collection and particularily one of my fave sheets
the blue and white side of 'Fairyland'. I did use a lot of media on top, but that is one of the
many great things about the Blue Fern Studios papers; they are very thick and awesome
quality so they are able to take a lot of experimenting!

I picked a pretty picture of my youngest looking for seashells on the seashore last Summer.
As this is a beach themed page I decided to frame my picture using the gorgeous Seaside Frame.
It's got a little seahorse, a star, an anchor, etc so it's just perfect!

At first I primed my page with gesso. When dry I added a layer of a blue paint. I mixed several shades to get it just the right colour. I added a layer of crackle glaze on top.
Before the crackle dried I sprinkled  some special fairy glitter and some tiny glass beads on top.
After all we were looking for treasure :-)

The cracks in the paint are really small but look very cute in real life.
Unfortunately they don't show up well in the photos.

My second page was made as an example for the June BFS sketch challenge .

For this one I used the delightful Deja Vu collection.
You'll find the sketch and everything you need to know about the challenge HERE.

The beautiful birdcage is part of a set of two. It's called Deja Vu Tweets chipboard and you
can find it HERE

There is a big contrast between the bright colours in the first page and this more subdued page.
-But I actually like to do a little of both. That way at least there's no risk I'll get bored :-)

As a title I used the word 'Adore' and you can find it HERE
The two other words of the set are Love and Cherish.

The butterfly is called Royal Monarchs and is part of a set of three different sizes.
You'll find them HERE.

The chipboard underneath the purple mini roses is called Layering Stems and is part of a set
of three different ones. You can see all of them HERE

And my third page and last one for today:

Picture is from last year when we took MIL out for a birthday dinner at the local yacht club (no we do not have a boat :-D).

I used Ombre Dreams for my page ,'Susans Dream'. I added a couple of layers in the middle. I used my trusty border punch this time. It's been too long....

I picked som Shabby Brick bits that I painted white and then sprinkled with yellow fine glitter.

The main chipboard piece here is the beautiful Beaded Flourish frame and you can take a closer look HERE.
I painted it, and when dry I stamped it with one of the 'Halftone' stamps. To further embellish it I added some gold stickles. I thought this would match well to the golden coloured mist I used on my background.

I hope you liked the pages that I prepared for you!
Thank you for visiting today! :-)

Off the Page Projects from our Creative Team

We thought the last day of January would be a good day to share some Off the Page projects from our Creative Team.  Of course our beautiful paper, chipboard designs, and our new stamps are used a lot for layouts, but it's also perfect for other projects, as well.   Let's take a peek at what our Creative Team has been up to:

A Mini Canvas by Galina Savonova
created to remind her of summer.  She has used Blue Fern chipboard on the canvas.

Artist's Trading Cards (ATC) by Patter  Cross using various chipboard pieces.

Kim Price added this ships wheel chipboard piece as the final touch on the journal cover.

Here's a look at a project Jelissa Mei created for a friend - a canvas and an album, both embellished with Blue Fern chipboard.

Einat Kessler used chipboard and paper from our Sanctuary Collection to create this mixed media perpetual birthday calendar.  What a great idea!

The Blue Fern Beaded Flourish chipboard frame is stunning on Angelica Franssen's canvas.

Karita Vaino chose our Shabby Brick Bits to place behind the framed image on this canvas piece.

And lastly, Marie-Josée Hamel used the Chain Link panel to create gorgeous texture on this simple, but elegant canvas.

We sure hope you found these projects inspiring!
